DELTA® PROXIMITY SENSING TECHNOLOGY NAMED A STEVIE AWARD FINALIST
Online voting to determine winner of People’s Choice Favorite New Product Award

Proximity™ Sensing Technology by Delta is a finalist in the People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Product, and building, remodeling, and design professionals, as well as consumers have the opportunity to determine the outcome. The award is open to voting by the general public until June 4, 2010.
Introduced in 2009, Proximity Sensing Technology is the next generation in hands-free functionality for commercial faucets for use in hotels, schools, office buildings and other public facilities. Using the principles of capacitance - the body's ability to hold an electrical charge - the system forms a four-inch field around the body of the faucet. When the user's hand enters the field, the faucet is turned on. When the user removes their hands from the water stream, the faucet turns off within 2 seconds. With no infrared or optics, which can be frustratingly difficult to use, Proximity Sensing Technology enables easy faucet operation and permits a greater variety of faucet designs.
Delta won a People's Choice Stevie Award in 2009 for the Pilar kitchen faucet with Touch2O Technology. The faucet also won a 2009 New Product of the Year Stevie Award.
The 2010 Stevie winners will be announced at the American Business Awards Banquet in New York on Monday, June 21, 2010. The People's Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Product are sponsored by the American Business Awards, the premiere business awards program in the United States.
